Have you ever wanted something so bad that you could smash the nearest objet d’art to get it? Well, now you can. The Genjo Daha from Ichiyama Touen is a plain ceramic egg on which you write down your heart’s desire, anything from “I’m going on a diet!” to “I will be a more decisive person.” Then smash the egg into tiny bits, sweep all the pieces into the included envelope, and mail them back to the company. If you say a quick prayer as you send it off, your wish, it is said, will come true. And just in case you were worried about the waste, Ichiyama promises to recycle all the busted-up ceramic into coffee mugs and other goods. Just remember: “negative” use of the egg is strictly prohibited, so if you’re wishing for that jerk at the office to get what’s coming to him, you’d better look elsewhere.
