Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

High concept

The 16th American president was actually an axe-fu master and dedicated vampire slayer who fought the Civil War because the South was controlled by vampires who were using the slaves as a food supply. A lot of people don’t know that. While the title may elicit a chuckle, this one-trick, incoherently edited movie plays it straight in the mistaken belief that even the most moronic concepts can be pulled off if you keep a straight face. If you can get past the central conceit (I couldn’t quite) it’s at best an agreeably loony genre mashup. Cool disintegrating-train-on-a-burning-trestle climax, tho.
