Not concerned merely with the sensation of taste, Ayako Suwa aims to please all five senses. After a stint in advertising and then a job catering at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, Suwa merged her obsessions with cuisine and design to produce “food creations,” which go on display next weekend at Laforet Museum. In addition to showcasing past works like A Lingering Taste of Regret with Overtones of Anger Welling Up (cherries, balsamic vinegar and seaweed), the weekend will feature lavish ¥5,000 “food performances,” as well as affordable ¥1,800 tastings at “guerilla restaurant” Lost Tongues.
