Beef cutlets at Sekkoku

Located in Shibuya, newly-opened restaurant Sekkoku offers a unique pairing of gyukatsu (fried beef cutlet) with Japanese wine or sake. Made with Australian beef, the cutlets are coated with fine panko breadcrumbs and fried in 210-degree oil for 30 seconds, so the meat can be enjoyed rare.

The restaurant is non-smoking and the speedy preparation makes for a perfect lunchtime menu (lunch from ¥1,200).
