Byodoin Temple 970th Anniversary: The Byodoin Phoenix Hall and Jodoin Temple ー Its Beauty and Faith

This exhibition explores the faith and beauty of Byodoin, spanning its history of 970 years. Beginning with the National Treasure Worshiping Buddhist Saints holding a mass in the clouds enshrined in Phoenix Hall, the exhibition presents the treasures that were introduced to Jodoin (a sub-temple of Byodoin), such as wall paintings from the Yorin-an Shoin Study (Important Cultural Property), and Heian sculptures which will be on display for the first time.
Entrance fee: ¥1,400 for adults, ¥1,000 for university and high school students and ages 70 and over, free for junior high school students and below
Opening hours: 10am – 7pm (entry to the gallery until 30 minutes before closing)
