Marie Antoinette Style Exhibition in Yokohama

Aug 01, 2026 at 10:00am ~ Nov 23, 2026 at 6:00pm

The “Marie Antoinette Style” exhibition in Yokohama gathers 200 gowns, jewelry, furniture, prints and photographs that trace 250 years of fashion history from the late 1700s to 2025 haute couture. The exhibition goes beyond the queen’s reputation for extravagance to reexamine her lasting influence on style and design.

Explore items once owned by or linked to Marie Antoinette, including diamonds believed to connect to the Diamond Necklace Affair. View a guillotine blade reportedly used in her execution, displayed alongside a smaller section covering the broader history of the French Revolution.

Curators reworked the exhibition for its Asian tour and added roughly 20 works from Japanese collections, giving the Yokohama run a lineup that differs from the original London version. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London organized the exhibition.
