This workshop will teach you how to prepare and direct your first meeting with an investor. Learn how to use simple, concise, and powerful messages to clearly articulate your value.
We encourage you to bring your own pitch materials (decks, slides, presentation) to receive feedback and guidance from our guest speakers Jesper Koll & Schyler Cole.
Schyler Cole: Schyler Alexandra Cole is a venture capitalist, ecosystem builder, and policy specialist, originally from Memphis, Tennessee in the United States. Her guiding star is to invest in and support diverse ideas, people, and organizations allowing people to have improved lives and livelihoods. Schyler earned a BA in Economics from Stanford and an MPP from The University of Tokyo. She founded a social enterprise dedicated to creating a marketplace for socially and culturally relevant food and health resources and has experience in startups, venture capital, research, and think tanks in the US and Japan. In addition to her work supporting companies, she is also a yoga and movement coach.
Jesper Koll: Jesper Koll has been researching and investing in Japan since becoming a resident of the country in 1986. Over the past two decades, he has been recognized as one of the top Japan strategists/economists, having worked as chief strategist and head of research for major US investment banks JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch. He currently serves as expert director for the Monex Group and the Japan Catalyst Fund investment committee. His analysis and insights have earned him a position on several Japanese government and corporate advisory committees, including Governor Yuriko Koike’s Advisory Board.
