Yang2 Solo Exhibition “Homage to New York”

Nishi-Azabu WALL_alternative will present “Homage to New York,” a solo exhibition by Yan2, known for works that explore public expression through digital media.

Yan2 creates works using “autonomous devices,” machines that act in place of humans, such as AI-based automatic drawing machines. Recently, his works have focused on energy, the foundation of the technologies he uses. By examining the infrastructure that supports modern life, Yan2 questions the evolving relationship between humans and technology and creates new perspectives on embodiment and expression.

This exhibition features new works inspired by his six-month research residency in New York and other U.S. locations. The centerpiece is a 7-meter wall collage made from materials collected during the residency, visually reconstructing his New York experience through techniques shaped by his time abroad.
