Katsushika Fireworks Festival

Jul 28, 2026 at 7:20pm ~ Jul 28, 2026 at 8:20pm

One of Tokyo’s most popular summer traditions returns as the Katsushika Summer Fireworks Festival celebrates its 60th anniversary. On July 28, 2026, organizers will launch approximately 20,000 fireworks, lighting up the night sky over Katsushika.

To mark the milestone, the festival will also feature a special drone show. Together, the fireworks and drones will create a dazzling display of light, color and technology along the Edogawa River.

Locals and visitors alike flock to the event each year for its unique atmosphere. Unlike many large fireworks festivals, spectators can watch from locations close to the launch site. The booming sounds and brilliant bursts create an immersive experience that few other events can match.

Reserved seating goes on sale from June 22. Katsushika City residents can enter an advance ticket lottery before the general sale begins. Check the official website for details.

Organizers will announce additional event information closer to the festival date. Event may be cancelled in the case of severe weather.
