Fireworks, drones and a giant fountain show ring in 2027 at the Tokyo New Year’s Eve countdown in Odaiba.
Tokyo New Year’s Eve ’26/27 takes place at Odaiba Marine Park on Thursday, December 31. The countdown brings fireworks, drone shows and stage performances to the waterfront. Food trucks also set up in the park.
Note that Happy New Year Tokyo—last year’s countdown at Tomin Hiroba (Citizens’ Plaza) in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku—does not return this year.

What to Expect at the Tokyo New Year’s Eve Countdown
In addition to fireworks and drones, Tokyo Aqua Symphony—one of the world’s largest fountain shows—joins the program.
Meanwhile, the Tokyo Beach Reflections projection mapping lights up the park’s beach the same evening.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Nighttime Promotion Project Executive Committee host the countdown. It forms part of a wider push to showcase Tokyo after dark.
Tickets and Access
The organizers plan to share schedules, programs and viewing instructions in late November.
