The wide-ranging stage and dance smorgasbord formerly known as Tokyo Performing Arts Market has upped and moved to Yokohama, though confusingly it’s held on to its old acronym. In its capacity as a performing arts expo, TPAM attracts thousands of professionals each year, but it also includes four nights of showcases featuring a slew of intriguing acts, both domestic and international. Among them are cutting-edge artists like French choreographer Perrine Valli (pictured), whose Myouto (“Spouses”) questions sexual identities through portraying Japanese and Western couples.

Performing Arts Meeting
