A warm, reggae-filled patio serving blackened jerk chicken and buttery cornbread worth seeking out
Checkered tablecloths cover the tables beneath a roof of corrugated iron and exposed wooden beams. The room is modest and warm, with the feel of a covered patio.
On the far wall, a painted “One Love” sign hangs above driftwood and a chalkboard advertising 100% Blue Mountain coffee. A familiar line plays from the speakers, “Let’s get together and feel all right.”
A wooden fan turns slowly overhead as the song drifts through the room. Jamaican jerk chicken arrives, the table already set with Heinz ketchup and red habanero sauce.
The skin is blackened and crisp, the meat deeply spiced, the heat lingering. Cornbread is set on top, its interior soft and slightly gritty, with a firm, buttery crust.
Even the vegan stew with rice and beans is quietly satisfying. The menu spans Jamaican staples and a wider mix of Caribbean and comfort dishes.
