A 530-inch theater affording visitors a virtual, 3D experience of the Macchu Picchu ruins is the highlight of an expansive new exhibition commemorating 100 years since the “discovery” of Machu Picchu. “The Inca Empire Revealed” is Japan’s first large-scale look at the Incas, who dominated the Andean region of South America until their defeat at the hands of the Spanish conquistadors. Gold statues, mummies and other artifacts are shown in an attempt to answer basic questions about Incan civilization.
