First there was human beat-boxing. Then came Blue Man. Now from Israel emerges Voca People, a kind of beat-boxing, body-sock-wearing group that blends musical performance with avant-garde theater. Created by Lior Kalfo and Shai Fishman, the Voca People claim to hail from Planet Voca, a mythical planet behind the sun where all communication is based on music and vocal expression. The octet’s repertoire runs from Michael Jackson to Queen and classical.
