Get ready for an electrifying year of battles, performances—and now, the world’s first beatbox karaoke room!

The beatboxing movement in Japan just got louder. BEATCITY JAPAN, the country’s largest beatbox event, is back with a full slate of battles, global talent and new collaborations that push the art form to new heights.

A New Stage for Beatboxers: The BEATCITY Karaoke Room

In collaboration with Daiichi Kosho, BEATCITY JAPAN has launched the world’s first beatbox-focused karaoke room at Big Echo Shinjuku West Exit, opening April 26, 2025. This futuristic space is more than just a place to drop beats—it’s an interactive experience designed for all skill levels.

Whether you’re practicing your timing on one of three battle-length countdown timers (60, 90 or 120 seconds) or testing out pro-grade microphones from Sennheiser, AKG and Electro-Voice, this room is built for serious sound. The space is fitted with specially developed speakers co-created with JBL to simulate the energy of a live stage. You can also enjoy food and drinks or simply relax with friends, making it the ultimate hybrid hangout.

BEATCITY JAPAN 2025 PRE

BEATCITY JAPAN 2025 kicked off on February 23 at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya, launching this year’s expanded competition with Solo, Tag-Team, and Loopstation (supported by BOSS) categories. Winners will advance to the prestigious Grand Beatbox Battle (GBB25). The PRE event featured high-energy performances by top artists like SARUKANI and PSYCHIC FEVER, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.

BEATCITY JAPAN 2025: The Road to the World Stage

With additional regional qualifiers across Japan—including Hokkaido, Kyushu, Tohoku, Chubu and Kansai—the tournament builds toward its grand final on August 10, 2025, at Zepp Shinjuku.
