The 53 Japan Tour Kick Off at Gamuso!

Aug 22, 2026 at 5:00pm ~ Aug 22, 2026 at 11:30pm

London garage rock trio launches its Japan tour with an explosive live show at one of Asagaya’s best-loved venues

A UK Rock force spirit arrives in Asagaya as The 53 opens its 2026 Japan tour with a high-energy performance at Gamuso Asagaya.

Formed in London, The 53 has spent more than a decade building a reputation across Europe’s underground circuit. The band’s sound combines garage rock, psychobilly, and classic rock ‘n’ roll, delivering fast-paced songs driven by distorted guitars, pounding drums, and unapologetic attitude. Think less “easy listening,” more “your smartwatch wondering why your heart rate suddenly doubled.”

The opening show takes place at Gamuso Asagaya, a venue long regarded by local musicians as one of the area’s most important independent live houses. Its compact space and close connection between performers and audience have made it a regular stop for Japanese and international underground acts alike.

Fans of raw, no-frills live music will find an evening built on volume, sweat, and relentless momentum. For anyone curious about Japan’s independent music scene, there’s hardly a better place to catch an overseas band at close range before the tour heads to its next stop.
