Kinokuniya Tokyo English Book Sale 2026: Up to 60% Off

Jul 09, 2026 at 10:30am ~ Jul 20, 2026 at 7:30pm

Books Kinokuniya Tokyo clears out its warehouse with 12,000 English-language books at up to 60% off regular prices. The sale runs for twelve days at the Kinokuniya branch next to Takashimaya, not the Shinjuku main store. New titles join the floor daily throughout the event.

What’s on the Floor

Expect boxes of stock across fiction, children’s literature, YA, nonfiction, business, humanities, science, art, design, photography and reference. This year’s sale skips French, German, Spanish and Italian titles. Picture books are also out of the lineup due to a stock shortage. Beyond that, the selection spans a wide range, with fresh arrivals throughout the twelve-day run.

Points, Delivery and What to Know Before You Go

Point card holders earn 5 Kinokuniya points per ¥100 on imported and bargain books. Purchases over ¥10,000 qualify for free delivery to a Japan address (allow a few days for processing).

All bargain books must be selected and paid for in-store. Phone and online orders are not accepted. Stock cannot transfer between branches, and the bargain books don’t appear in the inventory database—staff cannot check stock on your behalf. Sale items are final with no returns, so look each book over carefully before buying. Gift-wrapping and paper covers are unavailable during the sale period.
