The Nihonbashi Bridge Preservation Society is holding yet again the Nipponbashi Bridge Cleaning event, a summer tradition in Nihonbashi.

The bridge cleaning is held yearly to preserve the beautification of Nihonbashi. This event is attended by many local people. Nihonbashi is washed by hand using eco-friendly detergents, and the Tokyo National Highway Office’s water trucks and fire trucks are also helping out to remove the year’s dirt.

Date: July 23, 2023 (Sunday) 9am – 11am
Reception: In front of the Nihonbashi Tourist Information Center across the Flower Square Nihonbashi Tourist Information Center (at the foot of the Nihonbashi Bridge) from 8:30am.

10:30am: Final cleaning by Tokyo National Highway Office sprinkler truck
10:50am: Prayer for the traffic and disaster safety by the chief priest of Jizoji Temple
