Too Hot to Be Cool Beach Festival | Rock for Climate
Aug 08, 2026 at 12:00pm ~ Aug 08, 2026 at 7:00pm
Tokyo’s climate-conscious rock series Too Hot to Be Cool leaves the city for the ocean with its 9th edition and first-ever beach festival. On Saturday, August 8, eight live rock acts take over NA Seci, a seasonal beach house on Zaimokuza Beach in Kamakura, for a half-day of music by the sea. Doors open at 12:00 with rock DJs, the first band hits at 12:40, and the music runs until 19:00. Expect garage, punk, surf, funk and psyche from bands including Bird Diner, theCOMMON, The French Toast, FUQA, Jap Hot Chili Peppers, Konnichiwa Typhoon and Moon Room, plus DJs, live painting and the festival’s bilingual MCs. Every ticket comes with a guaranteed seat and a wristband so you can drift between the stage and the sand all afternoon.
More than a concert, the festival raises funds for Mangrove Matters PH, a youth-led Philippines NPO restoring mangrove forests that store carbon, shield coastlines and shelter the communities that depend on them. 100% of ticket proceeds go directly to the cause. Family-friendly, beachside and powered by good vibes, it’s a full afternoon of rock for the planet. 🎸🌏
