Ideas of house and home

Originally published on metropolis.co.jp on March 2012

Czech artist, curator and PhD. student at Tama Art University, Karin Pisarikova looks at ideas of house and home via the creations of five Japanese artists. Hiroshima’s Rieko Seto fabricates idealized homes for the human body from waste cardboard, while Tomoyuki Nikky introduces another piece from his set of huge half-alive monsters that welcome you inside their intimate living spaces. The Ginza exhibition follows on from “Hollyhome,” a display of Pisarikova’s own work at the Zero 8 Gallery in the same building from March 9-17.

Seio Gallery, March 17-23 (listing).
