Two young French directors present works at Meguro’s Komaba Agora theater as part of a year of cultural interchange between France and Japan. Fresh from impressing audiences at the influential Avignon theater festival are Christophe Fiat and Mathieu Bertholet. Fiat directs Daikaiju Eiga (“Monster Movie”), a two-man play he created based on his views of Fukushima and Hiroshima in which he performs opposite a Japanese actor. Bertholet offers Rosa, seulement, inspired by Marxist revolutionary Rosa Luxembourg.
Komaba Agora Theater, Sep 30-Oct 5 (listing).
