This year’s outdoor party season kicks off next month with the long-running Nagisa festival. Like the headliner, house godfather Frankie Knuckles (pictured), Nagisa is getting a bit long in the tooth. But for dependable foot stomping, booty-shaking beats at a convenient bayside location, it’s hard to top. Backing Knuckles are Mexican post-trance act In Lack Ech, electro sampling wunderkinds Hifana, intelligent hip-hop artist Shing02 and unreconstructed record-bin plunderer and kitschmeister Tomoyuki Tanaka, a.k.a. Fantastic Plastic Machine.
