In the latest installment of its BookNotes speaker series, Good Day Books in Ebisu examines the incident that thrust Japan and the US into World War II. Author Takeo Iguchi’s Demystifying Pearl Harbor presents a painstaking analysis of the circumstances surrounding Japan’s delayed “ultimatum” to the United States after the attack, which had been a source of controversy for almost 70 years. Iguchi brings impressive credentials to the discussion—his father was counselor to the Japanese Embassy in Washington, DC at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack, and the author himself went on to a distinguished career as a diplomat and instructor of international law.
