Flowers and Anger: Koji Ajisaka Solo Exhibition
Jul 04, 2026 at 1:00pm ~ Jul 26, 2026 at 7:00pm
Fukuoka-based painter Koji Ajisaka returns to Biscuit Gallery in Shinjuku with “Flowers and Anger,” a solo exhibition opening July 4, 2026. The follow-up to last year’s show brings together around 60 new acrylic paintings of flowers, painted since last autumn and shown here for the first time.
The flowers themselves are simple: blooms in the act of blooming, and by extension, a symbol of peace and anti-war sentiment. The “anger” in the title comes from somewhere else entirely — Ajisaka’s response to a world where the powerful run rampant and the weak get trampled. By his own account, he’s spent recent years channeling that frustration almost compulsively into his brushwork, and the exhibition’s title grew out of that feeling.
