Omotesando Super Yosakoi Festival

Aug 29, 2026 at 10:00am ~ Aug 30, 2026 at 5:30pm

Tokyo’s biggest yosakoi festival takes over Omotesando, Harajuku and Yoyogi Park on August 29-30. Teams from across Japan, including many from Kochi Prefecture where the dance began, fill the avenue for two days of performances. Yosakoi [a naruko-clacking dance style born in Kochi] pairs the call-and-response energy of traditional matsuri dancing with modern choreography, music and costume design.

Performances run across multiple stages, from the main stretch of Omotesando to NHK’s Keyaki Namiki-dori and Yoyogi Park’s BE Stage. Teams compete and collaborate throughout both days, with synchronized routines, flag work and the wooden naruko clappers that give the dance its rhythm.

Entry is free throughout. Harajuku Station’s Omotesando Exit and Meiji-jingumae Station both put you a minute from the crowds; Omotesando Station serves the August 30 performances directly.
