A community of supermarket foodstuffs lives a perfect life in wondrous anticipation of being “chosen” by a shopper and taken to the Promised Land. Until they discover the shocking truth that this means… being eaten! With its cute characters and bright colors, this may look like a forgettable babysitter animation. But that would be deceptive packaging. This is nothing less than a subversion of that very genre and a sly meditation on religion to boot. Be warned that it’s also exhaustively filthy and about as rude and crude as mega-stoner producer/writer/star Seth Rogen can make it. NOT for kids. (89 min)
