Morinaga’s Dars chocolates are a convenience store staple. But unlike its contemporaries, which either veer on the conventional or the kooky in their flavor selections, Dars targets its adult consumer demographic with more tried-and-true, semi-savory tastes.

Case in point is their latest release, a pistachio-ganache melange, sold under the name “Queen of Nuts” (¥324)—replete with a card-deck queen dressed in leprechaun green on the packaging.

It’s delightfully nutty with hints of vanilla, and the ganache adds a lovely richness. As far as convenience store chocolates go, the Queen of Nuts rules.
