JEF United Chiba spent 17 seasons in Japan’s second division before winning promotion back to J1. On Friday, August 21, they get to test that return inside a bowl built for roughly 68,000 people.

Kickoff is 7:30pm at MUFG Stadium, better known as the Japan National Stadium.

Collect an EVO BAG at the Pokémon Special Fest

The first 50,000 people through the gates receive an EVO BAG, an eco bag carrying Pikachu and FC Tokyo’s club partner Pokémon, Ceruledge. Bags go out at every gate from opening until the end of halftime, or until they run out.

They are not handed out on the visitor side, so Chiba supporters will have to admire from a distance. Pikachu appears in person alongside Cinderace, and club merchandise featuring both Pokémon is on sale at a booth near the stadium from 5pm.

Buy FC Tokyo Tickets Before Friday

General sale opened July 20 through J.League Ticket. FC Tokyo also runs a separate English-language ticket site covering home games only.

Seat allocation and pricing at the National Stadium differ from the club’s usual Ajinomoto Stadium tiers. The match page lists which sections are set aside for visiting supporters.

Reach the Stadium in Five Minutes

Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station on the Toei Oedo Line puts you one minute from the gates via Exit A2. From JR, Sendagaya and Shinanomachi stations on the Chuo-Sobu Line are both about five minutes on foot.

Food stalls run near JR Sendagaya Station under the name AO-AKA PARK. They are cashless, so bring a card or an IC pass.
