Some calligraphers prefer the serenity of a Zen temple. “Adventure Calligrapher” Kaori Tsukikaze likes to pack her brushes on the back of a motorcycle and draw her way across the remotest reaches of the planet. The results of her latest journey through Tibet are on display at branches of outdoor retailer Montbell this summer. Tsukikaze calls her style fusho, or “calligraphy of wind,” which represents an attempt to capture the atmosphere of the places she visits. Her trip last year covered 6,500 kilometers across the roof of the world, including a circuit around the holy Mt. Kailash, where she stopped to dash off a quick canvas.Montbell Club Machida
