Korean indie darling Jang Kiha, one of the country’s first artists to go viral thanks to the internet success of his song “Cheap Coffee,” makes his Japan debut at the invitation of multi-instrumentalist wunderkind Shugo Tokumaru. Backed by the mysterious dancing Mimi sisters, Jang has a more offbeat charm than the current crop of K-wave bands sweeping the nation, and has just released his first album here, Living the Nothing Special Life. At the time of writing, tickets have sold out for his date with Tokumaru and Zazen Boys at Shibuya’s WWW, but are still available for a concert at Lush the night before, with New Wave eccentrics Hikashu.
